Introducing the Flocking Good Time Socks

Flocking Good Time Sock Pattern Now Live!

If you’ve ever been to a fiber festival, then you will understand my excitement about Flock being held so close to where I live. Flock Fiber Festival is an annual festival and marketplace held in Seattle celebrating all things related to fiber arts. Last year’s event was phenomenal, and I left feeling so enriched by all the new friendships I made (and yarn I got to squish). My friends and I have all been counting down the days until this year’s event, which will be held August 9-11.

This excitement led to a conversation with Wendee at Hazel Knits, and we decided to do a collaboration! After being inspired by this year’s Flock logo, I worked with Wendee to pick this gorgeous color palette from their Artisan Sock base (amounts are different than picture shown here).

Hazel Knits has also created sock kits for this, so go get yours before they run out!

This digital pattern includes instructions and charts for both toe-up and cuff-down. You can also choose between two heel options, the Shadow Wrap or Afterthought Heel, based on your preference.

The Flocking Good Time Sock pattern comes in 4 sizes, and a custom chart for each size to achieve the same look and fit throughout the size range.

Today marks one month before this year’s event, so it’s just enough time to make up a pair (or two). 🐑

You can download the digital pattern here. Also available on Ravelry.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
•  US 1 (2.25 mm) needles for toe, heel, and cuff
•  US 1.5 (2.5 mm) needles for colorwork
•  Stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn in contrasting color and same yarn weight (only if you choose the Afterthought Heel option)

Socks may be knit on your choice of small circumference needles. 32-40 in (80-101 cm) needles are needed for Toe-up cast-on, but the remainder of sock is your choice.

Note: Due to the length of the floats, it is recommended to do a gauge swatch and try on the sock as you get to the ankle/heel to ensure a proper fit. If you tend to knit tighter with colorwork, you may want to go up an additional needle size in the colorwork sections.
